Raccoon/Shippingport Safety Day

Updated: Jan 31, 2022

July 26, 2019 marked the second annual Raccoon Township/Shippingport Police Department’s Safety Day, and ACP’s very own Family Advocate and Law Enforcement & Community Liaison were in attendance to advocate for the safety of children while spending time with community members.

The event kicked off at 5pm at the Raccoon Township Municipal Park, where ACP set up a craft station for children and families to make pinwheels in honor of Pinwheels for Prevention, a nationwide campaign to prevent child abuse.

Along with entertainment and snacks, children were also invited to climb aboard emergency vehicles and meet emergency personnel, police officers, and other agencies who work to keep their community safe.
